Kambo Therapy, A Natural Approach to Cleansing and Rejuvenation
Kambo therapy is a traditional healing ritual originating in the Amazon rainforest. It utilizes the secretions of the giant monkey frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor) as a way to cleanse the body and promote well-being.
Kambo treatment is one of the most extraordinary natural healing tools available to us. It is a resinous secretion from one of the largest Hylid frogs known as the Giant Waxy Monkey Tree Frog, scientifically known as Phyllomedusa Bicolor.
Its secretion is not a sweat nor a poison in the sense that it alone is not capable of causing death or illness. The secretion is also called Sapo, Dow-kiet, Hunting magic, Ordeal medicine, “Vaccine of the forest” or “Guardian of the Leaf”. Amazonian tribes take Kambô before hunting to ensure greater success.
It heightens their senses, strengthens and energizes, allowing hunters to run faster with more stamina, without needing as much food, water, or sleep. It’s frequently used as a jungle medicine to treat snake bites, malaria, infections, and fever. The results range from nothing visible to miraculous. The modality will go where it’s needed, and you get what you need that exceeds your expectations.
Over the course of three decades, scientists have shown that the Kambo secretion contains a unique and highly complex chemical cocktail of bio-active peptides beneficial to the human body.
The Kambo Experience
A kambo session involves applying the dried secretion from the frog to small gates or burns created on the skin. This allows the kambo to enter the body and trigger a purging process. Common effects include nausea, vomiting, sweating, and diarrhea. These effects typically subside within 30 minutes.
Kambo therapy can offer various benefits, including:
Detoxification
Pain Relief
Mental Clarity
Emotional Release and More

What Happens During a Kambo Session
Kambo is intense, powerful, and quick. The unpleasant effects are strong and immediate but over within 20 – 40 minutes.
The top thin layer of skin is blistered with a hot incense that is about 1-2mm in size (very small) and the skin is peeled to expose the epidermis underneath, similar to a small blister when the skin rubs off, there is no blood.
The position and number of the points, we refer to as “gates”, vary depending on your needs. We can do a traditional session where the medicine can be placed on your arms, legs, or back or we can do specialized treatments on the meridians and chakras of the body to focus on specific organs for a specific result.
At this time you will be given water to drink. When you have consumed the correct amount of water guided by me, the dried Kambo is mixed with a small amount of water and divided into small dots and placed on your gates.
